The character Christine Jesperson, played by Miranda July, is an artist that works by projecting her fantasies, desires and her day to day reality on to still images. For the most part there are two subjects in each image, male and female. July then re-creates a "perfect" relationship between the two with a fictional dialogue and applied soundscapes. Through process July reveals what she sees in life and what she wants out of life. I see her work as an imaginary autobiography. With her art July invites the viewer into her ideal reality where truth is a faerie tale and we all live happily ever after. ))<>((
